I have a Z6 in my car now, but I have a spare VC that i'm planning on getting powder coated...I just want to know if they are the same.

No there not the same. Yes it will work with some modification to the piece that is by the timing belt, it will rub and tear up your belt, got to grind it down a little. Other than that yes it will work.. Be carefull what people tell you here..

the side whare the cam gear sits. the plastic cover piece dont line up, something in the valve cover is different when trying to use the plastic cam cover and will rub against the timing belt... Im sure you have to use the valve cover and no plastic cam cover and its all good. I seen it on a car that it happened to and I remember him telling me what happened when he did it. Im sure you will see it during the install, its no big deal...
