y8 mani problems.
I attempted to install my y8 mani on y7. PROBLEMS!
Once I took the old y7 mani off. I got the y8 all set to be installed
I put the vaccums on and coolant lines in place. And connected all the sensors.
But I have nothing for the tb lines. They disappeared. Ive looked on my buddies
car and I dont have these lines. My car isnt running 2 rich. But idles really bad
it does between 1500-3000. Dont know what to do. I need HELP anyone know
thats up with it. I'm trying to get this dude to help me out but I can't get in touch
with him.

Re: y8 mani problems. (mooseknuckle)
Are you talking about the lines that run to the IACV? Your problem sounds more like a vaccum leak to me. Does the idle fluctuate?

what year intake mani did it come off of? reason is because if it is a 99-00 intake mani, you might need to plug up those air injection holes...check the link below.

Yea his idle goes up and down consistantly. I have a 1997 y8 in my car and we used it as sort of a schmatic but there were 2 fittings on his mani/tb that I couldn't see on mine. Not sure why but perhaps it is like that guy said about the 99-00 y8. Bump for drubie.

on the Y7 (3 wire) and the Y8 (2 wire)

Re: y8 mani problems. (mooseknuckle)
use the y7 TB on the Y8 Mani... cover the IACV with a gasket. All you need to do is unscrew it and place a gasket over the holes. Once you do that and use the Y7 tb there will be no leak. If you just use the Y8 mani and dotn plug up the IACV on the Y8 there will be a problem. Use the Y7 tb and y8 mani(oplugging the IACV) then you will be set

If you want to take care of the IACV problem do what I listed. You maybe having a problem because of that
There has to be coolant lines. Can you take some pics of the TB then? Maybe I can help you from there?

luckily im in the midst of doing a y8 swap so i can tell you where all those lines go. Ok there should be a line coming from the waterpipe right underneath the mani to the leftmost hole in the IACV. The other hole on the IACV goes to your TB, the side facing the firewall. The other side facing the grill goes to the small port on the coolant bypass line. That should do it, if you need anything else PM, becuase i've done this

Re: (turbotime)
I replaced the TB with the one from the y7. The idle jumps back and fourth
between 1500-2500. So there has to be a vac leak. I'm just doing something
wrong. I snapped a couple pics.
Dont know if these will help but here:
I couldn't find those coolant lines for the TB. I really need some help. If anyone
wants to give me a hand. Im in the NJ, Princeton area. Im still gunna try and
figure this out but as of right now i dunno what else to do.
Thanks Drew
