Y8 Intake Mani on Y7 Questions/Help
So today my d16y8 took a **** on me with a head gasket blowing. I'm in school right now and also have a job so I need to get this thing running ASAP. I was planning on going to the junkyard and pulling a d16y7 out of a car I seen there last week and swapping it. I've read about the IACV things dealing with swapping the y8 intake manifold onto the y7.
Since my car is already set up for 3 wire IACV (Its a 96 ex) would I have to necessarily get a auto manifold for the swap to be easier? Or could I use the one off of my d16y8 now and it be plug and play?

i would just change the head gasket on it rather than swapping a new motor. mine went in my civic with 146k miles. i changed it myself in a weekend while sorking eight hours each day. alot easier than you would think if you have any automotive skills whatsoever. you can get a head gasket kit for like one fifty. if you do it though invest the sixty bucks in a tourqe wrench and a maintinence manual.
