Default Y8 Build, Any Suggestions?

Well I'm basically trying to get some power out of my D16Y8 but don't know where to start...
So far i have a 2 1/4 piping and a cold air intake, planing to install new headers next week.
I was wondering what i can do to get some power out of my engine without swaping it out.

Maybe changing some internals?
Any suggestions are welcome :D
and about how much power can a D series put out running N/A?

You won't get much power without FI. I would say a more aggressive cam, bigger injectors? lighter pulleys, reduce weight, port polish the head or do that bore out thing and get bigger valves. Intake manifold.
put a bunch o' wings all over the vehicle!
otherwise, you could just save your money and buy a b18c1 and get more power. Unless you're loyal to the great d series engines! Oh and good luck and hopefully someone smarter can elaborate on my rambling.

I would suggest boost. NA just isn't satisfying in the sohc unless plan on spending some extra change. $$$/hp isn't worth it. Spoolin performance has some nice budget packages from one of the places i've looked in the past.
but if you must stay naturally aspirated
look into head work/cam and maybe bumping up the compression. i know quite a few sohc combos make decent power.

also i'd consider looking into a better final drive and lsd they make a lot of difference!
maybe even 1st or 2nd gear as well.

tranny modifications are often looked over as good starting/supporting mods.

id also check d-series(dot)org

If i was to do forced induction, what internals would i have to change to adapt to all that new found power?
I heard the d series turbo kits are not that expensive? does this depend if i get it part by part or just buy the whole kit?
Also what other modifications would i have to do to the car to make it run right, i heard HAVE to tune ur car if u want it to run right...
Would i also have to chip or change my ecu?

Thanks for the help :D

I would say if it's got low miles, you could boost it on stock internals as long as you don't go crazy with the boost. d-series is cheaper, you can make even cheaper by buying each part separate, or doing a junkyard turbo kit. And yes you would have to chip your ecu and get it tuned. there's a lot more than that about boosting your vehicle but those are just the basics. You're definitely going to want to research and talk to others that are much smarter than me lol. Good Luck!
