y7/y8 rev problem

Default y7/y8 rev problem

aiight i got a 96ex with a y7/y8 mini me i just finished......i got all the sensors back on the vavs are all hooked up and all that....

so i go and start the car and it REVS way HIGH.....like 6k............
so i disconnect the throttle cable and it still does the same thing

just need some info on what i should check and if u have had the problem before and know what it is it would be greatly appreciated...ty for the help in advance

Check the idle bolt, sounds like it's not letting the throttle down.

Not my picture but it should be right under where the arrow is pointing..
I believe the tool is an allen wrench.

ok that was never messed with during the process of the swap.....i was told it might be the TPS and taking it off and using carb cleaner might help....i will get at it again tommorrow im tired...

^To test this, pull off intake, turn car on and cup the TB hole with your hand.

If it dies, no vac leak, if it DOESN'T DIE, it's being sustained by a vacuum leak.

Have you checked whether the throttle plate is stuck open?

yeah throttle plate its rotating like it should and flipping back like it should....ive not tried the leak test so imma have to do that.......well in the morning.....as well as take the TPS off if it turns out to be that
