y7/y8 mini me manifold help????? bad idle!!!!!
i have a 95 civic dx hatch, I have performed a y7 y8 mini me motor swap, its been in for about 4 months its worked great so far, when we originally installed the motor i did not have the y8 manifold so i used my stock dx intake manifold, well today i installed my y8 manifold and im having some idle issuses i bought all new gaskets cleaned out the y8 and i also bought a hondata gasket and rerouted my coolant lines, i started the car and my idle is all messed up reving up 2 2500 rpms and going back down, now when i installed the y8 manifold i had 2 use my dx injectors, 0bd2 plugs are different. The obd2 injectors also have what looks like a cap over the nozzle of the injector that has a seal around the outside, do i need to switch that cap over 2 my dx injectors?? it seams like its leaking from that area. i sprayed some silicone spray(lol) at the top of the gasket and the motor bogged! I know that i tightened the manifold down enough and in sequence so thats not the problem! someone please help.

well the car is a manual. the head came from an auto but the mani is from a manual. auto y8 mani doesnt have the iacv. mine does. i dont know what year the mani is but i do know that some years the y8 mani has a outlet in the middle of the top of the manifold(where it mates to the head) and some dont have it. mine does. i think the problem might be the hondata gasket im using. never used one before

did you block off the air holes? yours has the air assist holes, its from a 99-00 y8. if you take the mani off, look by the injectors for the holes, then block them off.

Re: (2redstars)
i seen them and thought that that might be the prob. it looks like the obd2 injectors that came with that mani are meant to seal of those holes. if i switched to the obd2 injectors i think it might fix it. i really dont want to jb weld those holes seeing as they feed right inot the head

Re: (2redstars)
i could tap them no problem but if the obd2 injectors will fix it i can replace the clips and put the injectors in in ten minutes. i just donw want to cut my harness if i dont have to. plus pulling the manifold again would be a large waste of time. appreciate your info. do you think those injectors will fix it? or are they meant to suck air no matter what? as in does the head for that specific model have holes in it for those injectors? cause if so then im gonna have to plug them
