Hello!

If you have the Y7 is it worth it to swap with the Y8?
I tried searching and all I could find are how to do it or things that you'll need.
I want to know if in fact there's a difference in doing this - power wise.
May it be it HP or torque.
And I'm talking about dyno proven and not "butt-dyno".

If you look at the numbers of the Y7 vs the Y4, there must be something there, since the only difference between the two engines are the manifolds.

I just looked up the D16Y4 P/N's for the block, cam and internals, they are the same. However the IM P/N is the same as the Y8.

The Y4 has 120 hp and 106 ft lbs tq with only difference being the manifolds

I just checked what you said and you're absolutely right.
The only difference is the manifold.
So I guess it's worth it.

I was curious to see myself what the difference was, so I checked all the engine P/N's yesterday.
The Y7 vs Y4 share same block, head, valves, pistons, crank, etc. The only difference is the Intake manifold which is same as Y8 and the Exhaust manifold which is a P/N native to Europe , but appearance wise looks to be very close to the Y8.

I have a y8 manifold on a y7 block if you do swap be sure to keep the y7 injectors / throttle body or your gonna get terrible gas mileage like 22 all day long

y8 intake on mine made a big difference
