y7 swap into 94 ex

i have a complete d16y7 motor, im going to put it into a 94 ex with a hole in the block

is there an obd1 ecu that will run it safely? otherwise i might have to chip the ecu

can i use the z6 distributor? or convert the y7 one to obd1?

any other problems with this swap wiring wise?

also i was planning on using the z6 intake manifold because i threw the y7 one away

Friend is running his fine using an LS ecu (p75?)
Z6 manifold will work fine, because the y7's uses a 3-wire IAC, whereas most other honda motors use the standard 2-wire in the back of the manifold.
As for the dizzy im not sure, the Z6 may not simply just bolt on, because the bolt holes dont all line up perfectly, you may have to re-wire the y7. Maybe someone can confirm on this.

couldnt u just convert it to obd1 and run the stock d15b7 ecu (p06?)

Re: y7 swap into 94 ex (7808)

i think any OBD1 MFI non-VTEC ecu will work. you may need to flip a few wires around. try searching for threads on doing something like that. you can find more reliable info there than i could probly give you.

i hope you kept things like your TB and sensors and brackets from the y7 manifold. you may need them to get this to work right.

the z6 manifold is a good upgrade from the y7, and i assume you're using one cuz you had it from the orig. motor. however, the y8 mani does even better.

True, but remember, with the y7, its IACV is located on the TB, and it is 3-wire, not 2. That wont be of much help in an obd1 car if your using an ECU that reads for a 2-wire. Best bet would be to use the z6 manifold and run an nonvtec Obd1 ecu, such as a p06 or p75.
