Default is a y7 crank the same as y8?

i ask because i was thinking about just buying a complete y8 swap for 500... but thought to myself why buy another block when i have mine all i would need is a really clean head... what i wanted to know is the y7 crank the same as y8??? or which do u prefer minime or just the y8 swap??? im gonna be building either one...

Just get the y8 swap, in the end its not much more expensive, easier to do, and has oem reliability.
