y7 auto to b18 difference
So I have read for 7 hours straight now, not adding the time last night, on how to do a b18 swap in to 92-95 civics and had gathered a little on one for my 2000 civic lx. My question is.. how much different will it be to put an auto b18b swap in to this car compared to the 550 92-95 swap pages I have read on here and in the honda books at the library? I am using an engine from a 96 ls and the tranny from a 97, the ecu is from an auto... I know there are mounts from an si that will work and normally the tranny mount is best from a del sol I read(not so sure on that last part due to the trannsmission being auto, would it make a difference?.)
Just a quick background on why I am putting an automatic transmission in is due to the fact this is the wifeys car. I only get mine if I get hers done Any info is appreciated

to make all that long stuff I posted simple... swapping a 2000 automatic civic lx (y7) to an automatic b18b, what mounts could I get from other hondas? would I need the si ones for the from and del sol for the rear, like the 92 civics do, or would it be different? I'm headed to the salvage yard today so I am eager to find out before hand if possible

dont come across many people that do this but it sounds like a real hassle, they have mount kits for b-series manual swaps or use si mounts, but the problem is theirs no automatic si, and the integra mounts are completely different, so again is assume you would have to find a custom tranny mount, next problem is the shift cables, not sure how the angles would work since its again a different chassis, u will also run into mounting problems. honestly if she doesnt mind driving stick, then ur best bet would be to just convert the car to manual, or swap in a auto ex motor with some bolt on's and call it a day.

You won't use the rear mount for a del sol, you NEED the rear mount from a 99-00 Si. No others. Asside from that the crap should bolt in the same and the wiring should be all plug and play. I can't think of anything you will need to do different for the auto swap vs manual asside from hooking up the shift selector linkage (kind of a bitch) and hooking up the tranny cooler lines. The 97 ECU won't work however, since your car is a 2000. You will need a 1999-2000 auto ECU. 97 = OBD2A, 99+ = OBD2B. Different style of plugs.

I'm actually getting the motor, tranny, and ecu all for a little over $400 which for around here is not bad. Is it definatley the 00 si mount that I will need.. Ive heard its that mount and i've also heard it is a gsr mount. We're starting this on her summer break from school.
As for just getting her to drive a stick, I've tried to teach her on my old honda and afraid to teach her on my spec-v so.. automatic here we come. Plus she is not trying for the fastest car, just a little show and go for personal purpose.

Also the transmission mount is different. Prepare to cut and weld. Might as well do a manual conversion and upgrade to a 5 speed if you really want to do something like this
If ya ain't shifting, what's the fun?! No matter what you do, you're going to have to fabricate something.
