Default y5 block w/z6 head for a daily driver. what do you think??

im thinking about doing a rebuild on my y5 block and putting a spare z6 head i have on it. the plan would be to put this motor into a shell of some sort and have a reliable daily driver with 0 miles. since i cant keep anything stock, i was thinking of using some pistons out of a d16a6, and perhaps the zex 59300. i just dont want to use aftermarket retainers- do you think that this would be fine with aftermarket springs and oem retainers, keeping the rev limit to around 7500?
also, how do you think a stock cam would do on raised compression? any differences or problems i would run into? shoot me some ideas/feedback and whatnot on this.

i know that u can use stock retainers, and get some zex springs, and a cam and u ca rev to 7500 all day long and make some good power.

hahaha boost does own, but the reason i would be doing this is so i wouldnt have to drive my boosted ls all over( and i drive like 400 miles a week). i have a 90 protege now, but its beat beyond belief and i wouldnt mind moving up to something a little more reliable, especially on the highway

i just did some compression calculations on the knology site, and came up with 10.07:1 using pm6 pistons in this motor with a resurface mill on the head. using pm7 or p29's compression came out to be 12:1 without a head resurface, and thats a little high for what i want

be sure to get arp head studs if u boost it, and dont reuse stock head bolts. Head will lift from block.
