hey, guys... what the title says... I got a Y20(what it says on the tranny) tranny for free from a friend of mine(he got it free too and he doesn't know what tranny either) and am just wondering what it's off of.

All I can see is that:

it's a hydraulic for a B-series engine.

I already searched...

i believe it's 94+ gsr tranny but its just a guess

im pretty sure a usdm B16 tranny is a Y21. never seen a Y20 that i recall.

y21 is a non lsd b16 tranny, came factory in my eg6 sir-2
don't know about y20 though

It's a gsr tranny, I'm 110% sure 94+

if it is a gsr tranny just be aware that all gsr trannys are not y20.
gsr trannys are also use the s80 and y80 cases

It's the same thing as a Y80 or S80. I know because I've pulled a Y20 tranny apart before and it has the same gearing and FD as a gsr tranny. It's identical, just not usdm

EDIT* do you guys know if all the B-series tranny use the same synchros? I need to replace the synchros on the Y20 tranny but there's only one Honda dealership(no Acura) where I live.. unless I drive 2 or 3 hours to get to the nearest Acura.
