y isn't my vtec working
i revved my d15b vtec really high with the vtec wires connected to the motor. then i disconnected the vtec wires and revved it again and noticed no difference. i checked to see if everything was wired correctly and everything was. so i checked to see if the wires were giving off electricity--no electricity. what could the problem? could it the ecu? i'm using a p28.

Re: y isn't my vtec working (iluvjasmine)
Oil pressure, engine temperature, and car speed determine weather the vtec will enguage or not.
If you have the vtec-e which enguages at 2500rpm, you may not be noticing too much because you are looking for something around 5500 that is not there.

you cant rev your engine into vtec
even when your moving
the engine has to hit vtec under LOAD (meaning in gear and foot on the floor)

don't listen to them... put your car in first gear - start going like 25 and slam it in reverse and then free rev to your revlimiter... this is the VTEC activation technique - it must be done every 25,000 miles.

maybe your car needs to drop VTEXTC.... every once in a while it needs a kick in the pants to get rollin again. It can be purchased from the same place where you get your VTEC batteries.....buy both and save that way you will have a new batteries to roll with.

Re: y isn't my vtec working (GetawayinMoscow)
just throw it in third gear. we all know vtec always works there.
if that doesn't work. it must be the flux capacitator. replace it and your set!

Re: y isn't my vtec working (NiraCivicJDM)
i heard that if you dont buy the jdm headlight fluid for vtec cars when you buy a jdm vtec motor the vtec wont engage ,so then you have to have the whole motor rebuilt by honda, then you have to buy special headlights, because you tried to use vtec with no jdm headlight fluid just be carefull when you buy a motor next time and that should solve your problem
