Default wut do i need to do this???????????

96' civic 117,000 miles.

alright i'm trying to get as much info and as many ideas as possible for my still stock 96' hatchy.
-wut kind of setup could i have so that i could run high 12's or low 13's.
how much HP and torque would i need. give me ur ideas. wut should i tune with?i was thinking crome or should i settle 4 a piggyback. should i use a PLX device R500 or an AEM wideband. lots of questions. i want to keep reliability, daily driver.
should i buld w/ pistons and rods?

Big *** slicks/Nitrous/FI or motor swap take your pic.

If you don't know how to tune or having a professional tune your car, then theres no point of buying a wideband since the tuner has one anyway. Go with crome

if you want to hit it cheap you could get a b18b obd2 and boost it , and mild weight reduction.

Just drop in a DC5 Type R in there FTW! you'll get the results you want.

the whole reason people started making hondas and imports fast is because its cheaper than buying a fast car or a v-8. thats the whole point to having a honda.

i want to go turbo.no NA stuff. not enough torque with NA. i wouldnt need to make my car lighter if i had more torque.thats why i'm going for a turbo.

also i'm talking about street tuning it myself. i dont want to pay top dollar everytime i change something on my car. i already learned from my brothers mistakes w/ his turbo 94' hatchie. i'm planning on doing a obd2 conversion to obd1.

weight reduction=clean the leaves out

hp = money, money, money

dont waste your money on anything for that motor unless your going to run a built turbo setup. start saving for a b h or a k swap. do reading on this sight. you'll read thousands of articals on which is the best motor. an ls swap is always a good start for a good price, with lots of room to improve including ls/vtec and large turbo apps

Whatever, boost the hell out of it. Im sure itll need a few things first, but do it and tune it, then post your rebuild too!

Seriously, do it!

Be one of the cool kids like me and rock a stock car for a few years.

Then bust out the Check-card for parts.

Boost is the most cost-effective way to go fast, and YES it can be reliable. Even on stock internals. You'll want to get a compression test once you get ready for boost.

My suggestion, wait until you're 18+

The Popo's will lay a serious smackdown on minors trying to kill people.

Ask me sometime about my $1700 ticket. And that was with a bone stock hatch a few years ago.

Here's a really really good question .....

Have you ever ridden in a 12-second car? Has anyone ever put you in the passenger seat and bet you that you couldn't grab a $20 off their dash?

Better yet, have you actually driven a 12-second car?

home make turbo that ****.. Throw on a Y8 intake manifold, get a CRX HF manifold with a T3 adaptor plate, go junk yard hunting and try to get a Thunder Bird T3 Turbo, get some DSM 450cc injectors, ebay intercooler, ebay BOV, Ebay pipping, some sort of tuning management. thats if you want something fast and cheap

if you ever been in a 12second car especially if its turbo once the boost come in you are completely thrown into your seat,

True that yo! Ive been on a viper before goddamn it that **** makes your neck snap back. Its like going on a rollercoaster and you even get that gutless feeling on WOT.Even then it wasnt a 12 second car.How fast can a stock GTS viper go?I think it was an 2002.

Anyways,a 12 sec car will go so fast that you have trouble grabbing anything in front of you other than your seatbelt.

Ditch the y7 first and foremost. I picked up a running y8 with a spare block for $250. Throw in some vitara pistons and some cheap eagle or tuner toyz rods and boost the **** out of it. You go with a b series swap and you are looking at some $$$. Trust me, I've done both a b swap (crx) and a turbo d (ek), and by far the d is more cost effective not to mention much faster. D series longblocks are like disposable razors, you can find 'em anywhere for dirt. At least that way you wont be out much $ when you blow it up. (and you will blow it up)

That's not really true, you can go pick up an old 5.0 or Camaro for dirt cheap and make it hella fast for not alot more. But you won't have reliability or handling or gas mileage, etc.

lol.. 20$ says this kid never goes anywhere with this car..

you make 10/hr at best at 17, just keep saving for school. Even if you dump half your gap paycheck on this thing at best you will end up broke, and with a 15 second honda civic that looks like ***.

good luck thow, feel free to prove me wrong.

9sec. - 11sec.
i think that would qualify enough as having been in 12 sec. car
