the windows on the civic are going as slow as old people ****. it gets worse when it rains, hell the drivers side even came completley of the track to the point where i had to take both mouniting points of the track loose from the car to get it back in. to get to my point is there anything short of going to the mechanic and get the window seal replaced?

spray some silicone lubricant on there.

make sure you spray inside the tracks of the window.....the rubber part...

what do you mean by wet type? a brand name, or just the silicon spray that stays wet? a little elaboration, please

yeah post more about this.... i am interested in this also...my windows suck on mine....they get so slow that they start shaking when i roll them down....and hey degooser you have any pics of your car>?

not a brand or anything (I don't even know if its marked "wet"). But a "dry silicone" spray is also made but wears off really quick + doesn't condition seals or anything. Go to pep boys or whatever, there's only two kinds

I have 3M brand wet silicone spray. It says "wet" on the can and can be had for around $3-4. If you live in the northern states like me, you should use it on all cv boots, and anything rubber that is exposed to the elements. It will make it all last longer and prevent dry rot.

thanks for your help guys. went to homo depot and got some gunk brand silicone lube. did nt have too many choices but this should work, right?

when you get some of this...then what portion of the window area do you spray? my windows are bugging the hell outt'a me.

so it does say wet

so far as what to put it on ..... everything except the glass. Take off the door panels & roll window up ..... use the straw thingy and stick it inside where the window slides & spray liberally, spray on all moving parts inside door. Roll window down and again stick little straw thingy inside where the window goes & spray liberally (top portion of window) spray all around on and in the rubber where the window seats. Take a rag & dampen w/ silicone + rub all doorseals, sunroof, trunk, hood etc. this protects (as GRHatchMan said) from dryrot and can get rid of little squeaks coming from the doors.

what about window regulators....couldnt tha motor be goin bad. just my 2 cents
