WTF is my Idle doing!??!
Okay, I had made a post a long while ago about my idle being messed up, and then it stopped acting up, so I thought all was good. Then terror strikes back. I'll provide all the information I can about the problem.
The car is a 1996 Civic Lx with a D16y7. Now, here is the situation. The car's throttle body and intake manifold was taken apart by myself because I was about to do a y8 manifold swap. I did not have enough time to complete the swap, so I hooked the old stuff back up, because I needed the car for work that day. I am 100% positive that all lines are hooked up right, because I used a manual and my girlfriend's car as referrence to double check I had it all right...and I have had 2nd and 3rd opinions by my buddies who are pretty experienced with Hondas and Acuras.
When the car is started, the idle seems fine, perhaps a little high, but not too bad. Then as soon as gas is applied the idle starts jumping back and forth, in rythym, same way every time. It raises and then falls. Raises then falls. Again and again and again. The only way to level it out is to turn on the AC. I do not know what is wrong with it. I have tried just about everything. Checked the TB gasket, cleaned the IACV, made sure all vaccum lines and sensors were hooked up...so I am lost. Only thing I can think of now is that one of the parts has died, such as the IACV or TPS or something. Please make any suggestions you may have. Thank you!!!
