low compression could be a sign of a bent valve. run a compression and leakdown test.

bwahahaha thats the one thing that pisses me off in nj. everybody thinks they drive a lambo or something. speed racer is out everynight running 18's in the quarter mile lol.

a good exhaust will make a difference in the tone of the exhaust but what motor is in your ex? personally stock single cams are not fast at all so idunno how fast u expect this thing to be.

removing and/or lack of any resonator and CAT will leave you with a weedwacker, pissed-off-bees-in-a-coffee-can, ricey tingy rippy farty sound.

An intake and exhaust barely make a difference.

Why do you want your car to be louder in the first place?

I am willing to bet that the reason the exhaust was louder on your cavalier is that it had larger diameter piping than the civics restrictive exhaust. Since i assume you just put the can on your stock pipe, it is not going to sound much louder (if any). If you do want that can on the car at least take it to a muffler shop an have them bend 2.25 inch tubing and weld the can on. I did this to my civic back in high school and it did actually sound good.
