94 civic, i started my car this afternoon and it was revvin at 2000rpms which is not normal, even when cold...so i thought itd go down, i drove it for a few min, still idled at 2000....then later on i tried again, still 2000...its idlin high enough to where i can cruise in second gear without even touching the gas pedal (its a standard)....i did a search but didnt find nething really helpful to me so i was wondering what i need to check..thanks...by the way i havent done nething to the car, so that rules out the thought that maybe i messed with something under the hood to cause this...

Throttle cable too tight? Throttle plate sticking?

soudns like a vaccuum leak of some sort. Make sure all hoses from around the Intake manifold are attached. I have this problem quite often actually.

Check your throttle cable and plate- also the fast idle valve. that was the problem with my car! good luck

could be your Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FITV); I've had a problem like that before, open that up and screw in that white creaming looking screw. hope that helps
