WTF - Gap between engine block and tranny - *pics*
That doesn't look normal, but I must admit my experience under cars is limited to oil changes. This is my sister's POS 96 LX, haven't been under this thing since last year. Noticed this today...is that normal? Is she screwed?

Looks like she's missing the flywheel dust shield, or whatever its called. Its a thin piece of steel. Looks like it snapped off in the first pic to the right of that circle mark on the engine block

It's a manual, and it actually shifts ok...I'd think with that kind of gap it would lose tranny oil, but *shrug* She's pretty much demolished this car in every other way, this isn't a huge deal...but it will be for sale soon (for very little money, heh).
