Default WTF? Did they send me the wrong shock? (skunk2)

Here I am throwing my new skunk2 sport shocks and springs on my 98 hatch, when I get ready to throw the rears on and the shock fork is wider than the stock one. I measured the width of the stock fork and it is 1 5/8 inch. The skunk2 measures a full 2 inches wide. What gives? If I put the skunk2 on I would have to use washers t shim it out in order for it to fit snug over the lca. Is this how you are supposed to do it? Or did they send me the wrong shock? (the fronts went in fine)
Please help!

Yea , sounds like you got a set for a DC/EG which that stuff will work on an EK , you just need to use washers... Id put washers on both sides of the LCA's so that the shocks are centered.... I think a lot of companies make only one design , and they usually send you washers to put on your LCA's if you are installing them on an EK. Just pick up some washers from LOWE'S or Home Depot , and you should be good to go.

In fact the original skunk 2 pro series coilover kits used to come with washers in the kit. Check the box and packaging, you might have just not seen them. Otherwise just go pick some up. If you dont need these on ASAP you can call skunk 2 and they'll send you some.

Depending on if you want to wait for them to ship you the right stuff, if not then just buy some washers and put them in there equally so the shock is centered. Thats what I would do.

well if you said the dif between the forks was 3/8 you need an even number of washers that adds up to that

all depends on how thick the washers are for that particular bolt size at the hardware store you happen to be at
