you can get one at the dealer for pretty cheap and it will come with the plastic piece and the cable. or you could get one at a junk yard.

you would be better off just buying a new one from honda, you cant just get the plastic piece you have to replace the whole cable, atleast i did when my girlfriends snapped, but they are really cheap through honda so i would just replacce the hole thing, and its really easy to do, 10 minute job max

is it just the handle that broke? if so you have to replace the whole cable, well thats what I had to do anyway, but it gave me the perfect reason to re-route my hood release cable.

mine broke off along time ago too. i just use pliers to pull on what used to be the handle. and i believe that you get the whole cable and the plastic piece if bought from the dealer.

Yeah its just the handle that snapped....i can just open it with my fingers. No need for pliers....its just tha it sux and looks ghetto opening it like that. Might as well buy the cable and re route it just like the other guy stated....now i have an excuse...LoL

Buy both the plastic piece and the whole cable at a junkyard for a few bucks. Here is a writeup on how to replace the whole assembly: http://honda.lioness.googlepages.com/hoodreleasecable. It is not a hard job unless you never work with tools.
This part breaks often on Hondas.

I've done this a few times so far.
You have to buy the entire cable. It's about $25 or so.
It runs through the interior of the car, through the driver's wheel well (above the fender liner), behind the driver's headlight, under the core support, just past the latch and then loops back around to come from the passenger side of the latch.
It's not difficult, but definitely not a ten minute job.
You'll have to remove the front bumper, kick panel on the driver's side and the fender liner (at least partially). It's pretty straight forward from there. Just follow it and route it out. The grommet in the foot well is a little difficult to put in, IIRC the last time I installed one I routed it from the interior out so the grommet would be easier to put back in.
They break because they're supposed to be pulled straight out, but because of where it is in relation to your arm most people naturally pull up a bit.
Unfortunately for me my hood latch is very tight for some reason, so it breaks them anyway. So I have to replace both if I don't want the cable to break.

I've always wanted an OE replica made of metal.

I'm not trying to be rude to the people who have broken theirs...but seriously guys...common sense FTW.

As much as I try to pull it out straight, I'm pretty sure I pull up a little bit. Nonetheless my actual latch on the front of the car is super stiff (it's like the springs are backwards - lube does not work) and so I don't want to replace the cable until I get a new hood latch too.

Re: WTF DAMM HOOD LATCH?
I found this on another post. Get a T-Handle tap from Menards/Lowes. Cut the old plastic off and put the T handle on and tighten with a wrench. It worked great. I am all about easy.

It's broken on mine too, I'm able to go deep and pull the cable with my thumb and index finger but nobody else that's tried on my car can for some reason...kinda funny when I get my oil changed, I have to help them
