wtf is code 14?
ics malfunction? I dont understand. I have a 97 civic dx with a d16y7. The motor was from an automatic and i have a manual.
My idle is at 2000rpms and then sounds like i have cams because it goes from 2000 to 1900- 2000-1900-2000-1900 real quick.
help me anybody

idle air control valve is faulty. replace it. its on the back of the intake manifold. i know you can clean them out with brake cleaner but i was told it doesnt work to great on hondas/acuras. (Also it being just dirty wouldnt throw a code.) most likey an open in the solenoid.

-D16Y7 -> IACV on throttle body, both automatic and manual
-D16Y8 -> IACV on throttle body on automatic versions, IACV on intake manifold on manual versions.

as stated before, if its not throwing a code and is idling funny, cleaning will work.
if it is throwing a code then usually it needs the whole IACV cause the solenoid is fubar.
also, if you clean one too many times the valve will end up dieing on you.
