Default wtf battery light? popping headlight bulbs

Just recently my battery light has popped on a couple times. It seemed like the first time it came on was right after i hit a little bump. One time it came on it popped my low beams. And only my highs worked. Then today on my way to work with highs on the light came on and then both my highs blew. Just randomly it comes on while driving down the freeway then goes away on its own 5 mins later, then maybe will flicker later. Its wierd. any ideas?

A dying alty wouldnt blow my bulbs i didnt think... My alty belt is tight and all my grounds are good.

check the voltage of the battery when the car is running
if its high, have your alternator tested (sounds to me, like the voltage regulator is bad)
