WTF? After compression check, engine doesn't start
Ok, so I'm almost done gathering parts for my turbo setup and decided to test my engine's health with a compression check.
Bought a new guage, read the manual. Took out all the plugs. Removed dizzy wires so it wouldn't get spark...then decided to just unplug the dizzy altogether. Didn't know where the fuel fuse was so took out the "FI E/M" one because I guessed it stood for "fuel injection engine management." Hooked up the guage, opened the throttle turned it over and repeated for all cylinders.
First time got:
#1 - 192
#2 - 180
#3 - 170
#4 - 180
Did it one more time and got 180 across all cylinders. The guage's manual guide said crank 5 times, the cars book said 7, we cranked usually about 10 times until the guage stopped moving.
Put everything back together. Tried to start the car and it will spin a few times, make a weird noise, and never start. Fuse was back. Reset the ecu. Checked firing order (1-3-4-2 starting from bottom left and going clockwise). Just won't start. Plugged the dizzy in.
Smelled gas so know it's getting fuel.
WTF?
btw it's a 97 civic d16y8
