Default WTF???!!!

not sure if i posted this up here but again, i got an eg hatch.. my car had a hard time starting a month ago, found out that a fuse shorted out. i replaced it. drove 30mi. to work then my hatch shuts off on me while drivin on the expressway. got towed, brought the hatch to the shop... then dude tells me that he changed the main "LEEEEEELAY". hahaaa! spent 400BUCKS that day!! thenn it ran greaat until last night. downshifted at high rpm?.. fuse blew again.

any of you have any ideas on what i should do? i hate bringing it to the shop, i dont trust anyone touching it. but if i HAVE to, then i will. =/

What is the fuse that keeps blowing? is it the Alt/sol fuse?

Definitely sounds like a wiring issue, something is grounding out somewhere that shouldn't be.

If you've got a multimeter then get after it. It's blowing the fuse for the ECU, so sit back while I pull the schematic for that and see if there's anything else on it.

Be back in a bit.

What fuse # is it?

well if dramier can get a map of that wiring for you I can check it,

or there is that guy that could charge 1,000,000,000,000,000.00 to check it for you lol

If she can tell me what fuse # is blown, I can definitely give a list of things that could be causing it to check.. but without a fuse #... -shrug-

There are several fuses that go to the ECU or as Honda calls it, the PCM.

Edit: Maybe you'll see it the second time...

Well after talking to vtec_chick I have come to this conclusion,

She has a GSR swap in her hatch with a hacked up wiring harness. Im betting that some where in the splices there is a grounding issue occuring some where.

Im still working with her to find out where exactly where the problem lies.

Ahhhh.... Yep. Pretty good bet. But still, if you know what fuse is blowing, with a diagram and some patience you can trace the wiring and find the short.

Shouldn't be too difficult, just time consuming and aggravating.

That would be Fuse #31...

Should be a 15A fuse, btw.

Runs to the PGMFI Main Relay, which should be located under your driver's side dash, to the left of the pedals on the kick panel.

Could be a short in the Main Relay itself, which is not uncommon. Trace the yellow wire with white tracer running to the main relay under the dash. From there the main relay has wires like so:

Black: ground.

Yellow with black stripe: Goes to the ECU and fuel injectors, and also to the IACV, and evap purge control solenoid.. (Somehow I doubt you have that... lol)

Green with yellow stripe: ECU again, for fuel pump control.

Yellow with green stripe: Goes directly to the fuel pump.

In addition, from the main relay you have:

Black with yellow stripe: Power supply, runs to different fuses depending on whether or not you have SRS (airbags, etc).

Blue with white stripe: Goes to fuse #18 under-dash for power and also runs to the ECU for start input, basically tells the ECU the engine is being cranked.

So...

You are looking for anything that connects to any of those wires that shouldn't.

Wow! Totally over looked that.

Edit: Wait... if it was a 20 it would be harder to pop then a 15A

Something is drawing to much amperage in the car

Well I did the noob thing to do....
I used the search button, Seems to be that there are alot of people that had this problem in the past and it all ways seems to be the o2 sensor.
The wires ground out or melt and cause the shorting/popping of the fuse.

Unplug your o2 and go for a drive.. get on it again and see if the fuse pops.
