Default would you save her?

Well sence it was nice out today I decided to do some work on my 92 lx that has been sitting sence winter due to a leaky gas tank. I have known there was a hole in the drivers side floor board so i wanted to know just how big it was. I removed most of the intereor peeled back the carpet and this is what i found :-X

the rest of the car isnt in the best of shape eather :-X :-X

About the only good things right now are the low milage y7 and ex trans under the hood lol. Seeing all this rust would anyone make an effort to save this car or should i start looking for another shell :-\

I would say it COULD be savaged with just the quarter panel rust which wouldn't be easy, but with that floor board... I don't think so man.

If you know how to weld or someone that does it could be a fun project.

I would say ditch it, Unless you want a Daily driver... That's prolly what i would use it for.. Since the y7 isn't really that good of a motor anyways. Just my .02 cents.

Weight reduction!
Can it be saved? Yes. Is it cost effective? Not a chance.

if you "save her" now it still will be a ticking time bomb in the near future. that rust will come back like hell.

Believe it or not thats not even close to the worst floor i've seen in a 5th gen civic (i'm aware of one daily driven civic that litterally has nothing between the door sill and the exhaust tunnel, the hole is about 12" x 18" the only thing covering it is the carpet and a floor mat.) The quarters are pretty bad though (you can buy certafit replacement panels for $120CDN, each over here though, should be cheaper in the US. unless its an EX i'd probably junk it.
