I just returned from a plastic manufacturing plant where I took a tour of the facility to learn about the thermal plastic forming process. I am in planning stages of making a coin pocket that will replace the blank panel in 92-95 Civic where the Power Mirror switch goes.

It will cost me around $800 for a run of 100 parts. They will be made of ABS plastic and I am looking into having custom plastic made to mimic the factory Honda grey dash color. BUT, tenatively the custom coin pocket will be black.

My question is:
Would you guys have use for this? Would you buy it? Do you think it is overall a worthy idea?

Is there a location on the 96+ to make a coin pocket where a black panel sits? If so I can have them made at the same time. I just dont know much about the 96+ Civics but I will be glad to produce one.

Door sill? No, it is just to the left of the steering column. It is below the dimmer control.

I'd buy it if it wasn't pricey like the JDM unit. $50 bucks for a plastic pocket that I know costs $10 bucks at the dealership.

If I didn't have an Si with power mirrors then I could consider buying it for less than $15, but I voted for "I have power mirrors" cause....I do If you can make those, I might still buy one if I ever replace my mirrors or something...

i think its a lot of trouble for something so trivial as a coin pocket. i just use the handles in the door. lol.

The reason why I want to do this is that I find myself reaching up there for change all the time. Plus, I think other people might be able to find it useful. I just dont want to make 100 of them if no body will use/buy them.

The SiR cluster doesnt Dim.

I would buy one, but it would have to have a tilt to it so under hard acceleration the change wouldnt fly out.

sounds like a homosexual idea to spend 800 bucks to make plastic pockets just to sell them when anyone can just spend a few extra bucks to buy the oem guaranteed to fit part instead of some aftermarket crap that youl barely profit from
