would this be too loud?
wel..... i was about to buy a header and slap it on my 94 cx hatch to by pass the cat, so it would be running straight from my stock engine through the headers, stock piping, to a magnaflow dual 3 inch tip muffler..... i was gonna be all happy.........
then one of my friends bought a 93 del sol with a supercharger and 3inch pipes with an apexi catback...... and the thing has given him headaches since he bought it...... too loud is an understatement.... (plus the car has an idling problem so it doesnt idle, goes up and down )
my question would be that would the stock piping and mufler i got keep it from being insanely loud?

Re: would this be too loud? (revenge)
well first off im gona tell you not to waste your money on a header for you CX.
but i don't think it would be too loud, since you have small stock piping which is restrictive, and what sounds to be chambered muffler or at least a traditional style.
and im gona guess your friend has 2.25 catback piping with the N1 style stright threw muffler so ya its gona be loud.

By bypassing the cat, you mean just getting rid of it completely??? Isnt that illegal??? If your worried about sound, run 2.25 inch pipeing and a type ARRRR muffler or Apexi WS 2 exhaust. Both are quiet but not to much in the power gains if any.

What about 2.25 inch piping with two 4 inch resonators? One in the normal spot and one in place of the muffler. No restriction. Nice and deep.

its not gonna be too loud....but it will more than likely sound terrible, especially with no cat. I bypassed the cat on my setup and hated it so much i put my stock exhaust back on. Very few honda exhaust setup's sound good....but i dont think this one will.

I'd at least have a reasonator or two welded into place because a stock Cx engine with no cat and a big muffler will sound like the poo-poo dude.
