depends on how picky they are, if you do the splice right it's undetectable unless they really dig.

The trick does work, and it will get rid of your CKF CEL.

Are you going to get the motor barred? Or are you just trying to pass smog? If your just trying to pass smog, they won't look at your ecu to check for tampering. This is just based on my experience of smogging vehicles, all they do is plug in that one scan tool and look under the bay and then the test. If you are trying to bar the motor, I have no clue but I think they would check out your ecu.

bro just an FYI i wouldnt do that trick... I did it and less then a week later another CEL appeared that would stall every time i stopped i undid the trick and it was fine but the crank sensor CEL came back I would do it the day of your car going into inspection then UNDO it when its done and get a new crank sensor they are like 25 bucks and its easy to get to by taking off the left front tire and taking the plastic cover and you can see it and easily reach it...

I dont know why he had those problems, but ive done this on more than 5 cars, and have not had any problems. And never heard of anyone having any problems either. Your choice.

If you throw a CEL its an automatic failure for smog so if it works and doesen't throw a code you should be fine...but why don't you just fix the problem?
