Would my y8 tranny fit the zc?
I have a D16y8 vtech recently stop running, but I'm looking to get a D16zc would my y8 tranny fit the zc?and what other additional info would I need to know and do as far as the swap?

There's no such thing as a "D16ZC" but there are many variants of the "ZC" engine. You would need to clarify which ZC you are referring to as the term ZC roughly corresponds with D-Series 1.6 counterparts. As "grumblemarc" suggested, it would be much easier on yourself if you just got another D16Y8 engine.
To answer your questions though, yes your transmission should fit as long as it's not the really old ZC engine meant for 1st gen Integras/CRXs and 3rd gen Civics (can still be used but no longer a straight forward swap).
