Default would a header really help a d16y8?

I have been looking at headers for a while and came up with a problem, Most headers I've found don't differ much from the ex. manifold that I already have. I know it's all about flow, but the stocker doesn't have any real sharp bends and the diameter is about the same as aftermarket headers that I've looked at. Thanks!

Anything is better than stock manifold. I replaced mine and could tell a big differance on my D16Z6

Yup. The headers won't help much down low but up top is a nice little bump.

Header is of course best used in combination with the intake and straight thru exhaust.

And a Edelbrock intake manifold and High flow cat.

Agreed. My DC Sports 4-2-1 provided a nice oomph up top, but my A'PEXi 4-2-1 seems to provide more punch around mid-end. I like both headers, though, and they had excellent quality. Not a single problem with either the DCS or A'PEXi.

anytime you improve the flow characteristics of an engine, it is better. Maybe not as dynamic with certain parts by themselves, but together it does help.

Remember, your engine is a big air pump, let it breathe better. See how you like that, then move on to other areas, one at a time instead of a bunch of stuff at once so you can feel your progress.

I bought a used comptech SS header off a fellow HT member.
I love the header, but lets just say i'm glad i didn't pay full price for a new one.

mid-top end feels real good with my dc 4-2-1 on a d15b7... that was my first mod, and those freeway on-ramps are much much quicker
