Default Would a crooked rim in the back cause my car to jerk left and right

I just painted some vx's, and it turns out one of them were crooked. I put it in the back and about 2 weeks later my car is jerking crazily. any answers to why? I've also got an allignment after I lowered it and put the vx's on. This is on a 95 civic cx with rear integra discs.

did you have the crooked wheel balanced?

A bad alignment will make your car "jerk", a bent wheel will not.

My car jerks to the right alot. Sometimes softly, sometimes very aggressively, to the point that it slips out of my hand.

What would have to be wrong with it? for it to jerk. I'll upload a video of some of the jerking.

please no vidoes of you jerking in your car......

couldnt resist

If the wheel is bent enough and causes the it to spin out of round (straight up and down) it will creat a side to side motion. the car will follow the path of the wheel/tire.

Heres the whole story. Went home one weekend, painted my wheels, got new tires for the fronts, and made sure the crooked tire went in the back. I lowered my car with the tires on and got an alignment at firestone/bridgestone whatever its called. Then it was good for about 2 weeks, then just as I was driving somewhere today, it started jerking slightly, then an hour later it started to get aggressive. I want to go home tomorrow, hoping to fix it in the morning.

check for a loose LCA bolt etc that can cause to make the car jerk since they might have some play and move side to side.

i got the same thing, just not as bad as your video showed. i've been thinking that it maybe cause my wheels aren't balanced. not too sure tho.

change your wheels back to the others, that will tell you if the wheels are the problem

You answered your own question. If the alignment was fine for 2 weeks then it IS NOT THE BENT WHEEL. Obviously something loosened up due to not being tightened correctly and your alginment is now off.

Unbalanced wheels will cause vibration, not make your car 'jerk' every where.

It'll cause vibration but the wheel will follow the alignment. I've limped cars home with flat tires, destroyed wheels, etc. The only time they've not driven straight was if something was bent.

Alright, I'll try for another alignment in the morning.

I was brainstorming when I first made this post, that was just a brainstorm for my problem.
