Default would a bmw cat help me pass ref smog?

my neighbor has an extra almost new bmw cat ... does anyone know if it would help me pass the smog at the ref? i would be putting this on a d16y7 motor.. lmk thanx

i knoe but its hard to find a cheap honda one and i can get this one for free?

Try it out then. If it doesn't work switch it out and take it back.

Just find a person parting out a car in your area. They are illegal to sell to someone that is going to install it on there car. So your probably going to have to ask for the whole exhaust system.

What model and year BMW?
If it's one from an eighties BMW, they're about two feet long.

I don't of the quality for Honda, but try a place like Magna Flow for either a weld on universal cat or see if they make a bolt on one. Then look through Ebay for the best price.

Are you sure the cat is causing you to fail smog?


Also, depending on the BMW cat, I own several older BMWs, if you find out what it's for, I'll buy it if I can use it.
