ie, my 92 civic with 180,000 miles runnin on 5w-30 since 92 now
and my moms 95 accord dx with regular oil too, would it extend the lives of thoes cars to switch to syn? is it safe switching so late in the cars life + will it hurt any of the seals? thanks guys !

it won't really hurt anything, but if u have any small leaks that don't leak much with regular oil, the syn. will find it and come out a lot more
I think Valvolene (SP?) makes a high mileage Synthetic oil, check that out

on my old z6 w/ 190k miles, i switched to full synthetic oil (10w30) and it ran fine. although i found out that switching from normal to synthetic made oil leak around my valve covers...there was a great thread and site about this issue a while back.
5w30 vs 10w30 oil? i think 10w30 is good on older motors.

yes it would work better, my brothers 98 gsr has like 145k miles, its boosted with 6 psi (his engine can hold 7 psi), i would also recomend a S2000 oil filter.

I have heard rumors that it is bad to run a non-synthetic motor oil, switch to a synthetic for a while and eventually switch back to a non-synthetic. Is there any truth to this?
