What do you guys think would be a better setup for a 96 hatch? My goal is high 13s NA. I'll be doing a swap and I can't decide which engine would be better...besides a GSR or Type R

Why besides GSR or Type R????
Money??? 13's isn't possible without money.
Get a good base engine to build upon. The B16 doesn't have enough torque.
The B20 does but you will spend more money building it strong enough to handle the horsepower needed then simply getting the already built B18C1.
But, if I had to pick between the two I would say B20 with a 99-00 Si tranny.

I suppose you're right....I'd probably spend more on one of those engines to get it up to par with the b18c. I dunno, I guess I have some decisions to make! Thanks for your input guys...I think CRVTEC would be a little too much $$ for what I want to spend...

Speaking of the gsr and type R engines...what are the main differences between the two?

The only thing the GSR and ITR share is the block itself, not the internals.
Everything else is different. i.e the complete head, intake manifold, pistons, crank, rods.
The timing belt is the same as are a few other little things.
