Is it worth fixing my "EG" sedan?
I have a 1994 Civic sedan in that metallic light bluish color. It's a 5 spd with 185k on the stock D15B7. The engine burns oil (1qt every 80-100 miles, depending how rev happy I get). Also it's due for a timing belt and H2O pump, or another engine. My quarters and drivers door are rusting and I have a nice sized dent in my passenger door, and my interior isn't exactly the best, the trailing arm bushings are shot. I'm leaning towards salvaging some parts and scrapping it or just unloading it and getting something different.

part it out then scrap it youd get more money....and when you sell the motor say it has 110k miles and doesnt burn anything, paint the hood flat black and say its carbon fibre same with trunk..someone will believe it cuz there are some dumb *** honda owners out there..
you would make most money parting it out

HMM and people like you are why AMY doesnt have her Del sol done! Dont scam someone... scrap it out .. i scrapped an EF hatch i had out and made mega profit off of it .. The market for metal is down at the moment but the trans , if it is still good u can get a decent penny for it. Sell whats good on the car and then scrap the est!

Part it out. If you try to sell as a whole you'll get next to nothing. If you're unhappy just get rid of it. Someone will revive it someday.

I was thinking about swapping the gauge cluster and shift linkage into my coupe and converting it to 5spd with my other trans and some stuff I have.
Scamming someone may yield a profit, but I just can't do that. Sorry, but the Honda community is already pretty pitiful. There's enough of a market for stock parts to fix collision vehicles that I don't have to rely on scamming pathetic 16yr olds who are trying to make a race car out of stock CX with no muffler.

OP - Unless your keen on trying to part it out and then get rid of the shell afterwards (which could take more work then you think and some time) then just sell it for what you can and buy something else.

I'm not screwing anyone over. I'll sell what I can sell legitimately, save some parts if I figure I can use them and I have connections to a guy at a junk yard who will take the rest.
I'm located in the "Quad City" area right on the border of Illinois and Iowa. When I find a hatchback to replace my sedan, I'll sell you whatever you like, if you're willing to make the trip or pay shipping. Heck, I'll sell the whole car even.

****ing swindling ricers like you are the reason no one can have anything nice. I hope you walk outside to your honda not having anything stolen off it at all, but you get to watch it burn to the ground. Liars and theives are the lowest pieces of **** there are in this world, congratulations for making a name for yourself.

Everyone refers to 5th generation Civics as being an "EG", whether it's a USDM or JDM hatch, coupe or sedan, so I just put EG in quotes whenever I use it. It's like people saying the brand name "Kleenex" whenever they refer to tissue, whether it's Kleenex brand or not.

Re: Is it worth fixing my "EG" sedan?
That's what I was kinda thinking at one time, since mostly everyone drops GSR swaps into hatches and coupes, and the sedan is the redheaded stepchild everyone ignores. The Ferio is cool, but this car needs more work than I really think it's worth.
Just a list of things that need fixed
Rust in quarters and drivers door
dented passenger door
small nicks in windshield (thanks to a jackass at work)
dented hood
burns oil.
busted trailing arm bushings
front carpet
dent by taillight
paint
back driver's side window doesn't roll down.
Alternator belt squeels.
tires suck

Yea but it takes ****ing forever to sell everything from a part out.
If you have the money, or if you aren't in any financial binds, then just get rid of the car and get another platform to start from.
I had a cleaaaaaaaaaaaaan *** 4door EG8 with no motor cuz I pulled it and put it in my coupe, but I couldnt find a buyer for it so I just told a tow yard to pick it up for free because I couldn't have overnight parking where I live without a permit. Sucks because the shell was really clean w/ full interior. I regret it now because I have a child, but hey. You live and you learn. ( even though I made the mistake of selling 6 Hondas and regreting it after every one I sold )
