Since everybody of you know that EG's are very rare nowadays and alot of auto still left descent.. i found a 1994 model , red color honda civic DX 2 door hatchback in good condition 98000 miles and the guys is asking 2200 but willing to go down to 1800$. Now my plans for the eg is to swap b18c1 gsr engine into it in the future.. is it worth it to swap it to manual? and how much roughly to have someone install it labor plus parts.. thanks...

expect to pay about $100-200 extra for the swap when doing a conversion too .. if its in good shape go for it..

get the tranny mount if u goin 2 do the swap the auto to manual or else your motor slants its weird no torque mounts will go in. innovative

Get it done while you are getting the swap done, so much cheaper, it should be included in the engine swap price basically. One of the hardest things to do is swap the peddles out though.

Search for my posts, too lazy to link, but i did a full write up of what you will need to do a b-series and convert the auto chassis to manual.
if your a junkyard king more power to ya on doing this fi u can find the parts, but if not expect to pay a pretty decent penny, everyone fails to note the little **** here and there that adds up. any questions feel free to pm me

In my opinion its not worth it, I'd rather spend time looking for a manual one than spending my time doing the conversion. Yes I know it can be a learning experience, but that ***** a pain in the ******* *** lol

if you buy it auto and you're doing an engine swap (you will already have tranny, shift linkages etc), theres not much more to convert just pedals and small stuff, I say do it

check urban and craigslist and here. I see decent stockers all the time. Did you see that one teal CX in the northeast thread? He wanted like 2200 I think which is just a tad high, but it hasn't sold yet so...

EG's are rare now? i dont think so...

imo, not worth it.

IMO, it's worth it. around my area, 5th gen hatches (manual) are way over priced.
but the auto's are priced fairly, and if you know how to bargain it'll be less for you.

i picked up a auto for $1500 and did the conversion with a b16. the motor came with everything i needed for the conversion except for:

clutch M/C w/ resevoir & bracket.
clutch pedals
clutch hard line
tranny upper mount.

everything except the mount i picked up at a salvage yard for about $25.
the swap is not hard at all. yes manual would tecnically be just a plug n play. but the auto is just as simple. just install the hardline in before the motor. also the pedals are not hard to install either (like everyone else is saying).

ultimately the choice is yours, if you are like me where you are always on a budget then this might be something to consider. remember, the more money you can save on the car & swap, the more money you have to buy toys you want for your car!

Defiantly worth it if your already doing the engine swap, all you have to do is add pedals an lines. Its really not that hard, like I said the hardest thing to do is the peddles, specially when its like 110 degrees out and your sweeting bullets, and your back hurts because your upside basically. hahah besides that, its easy.

I myself am looking for a clean, rust free eg. If I came across an auto, I would not hesitate to buy and convert it.

Just be happy its not a crx chassis, those peddles are the worst. The clutch does not separate like the eg pedals do.

id say go for it. the eg's around me in manual sell for like 4500 with rust and the auto non rusted ones go for like 1800. i should have bought this clean as red auto eg for 1700 but i waited and paid 4800 for my ek.

I'm just now finishing up the auto/manual b18a all-in-one swap as well on my 93 auto hatch.

only thing I did differently was I'm using a cable transmission.

THE ONLY company to offer the trans mount for this conversion is innovative. how do I know?? because I commissioned them to design it for me.

why did I go cable?? because I can get them from the junkyard for pennies. I am also retaining the cable clutch setup as well.

I'll be goofing with the power steering tonight to try to keep the b-series power steering pump instead of doing the whole "hunting down 94+ teg brackets $$$

because you design it for you? do you mean for the cable tranny or for the swap in general?

because if you mean in general, then innovative is not the only one who has this mount. actually innovative has had it for a while now, as well as hasport, and hcp (which that is the one i am using).

beside i wasn't aware of the cable and hydro using different mounts at the chassis.
