Is it worth buying an adjustable cam gear on a stock car?
Friend of mine has a stock 97 civic, SOHC, VTEC. Would it be worth buying an adjustable cam gear for it? Hes just trying to shift the torque...or lack of torque curve down a little. Hes not trying to go fast or anything. I obviously know thats what a adj cam gear is designed to do, but on such a low powered and stock vehicle, would it be worth it?

How is he doing this? With the butt dyno or a real dyno?
To answer your question.........no its not worth it, unless you plan on upgrading your cam and a bunch of other stuff and taking it to get dyno tuned.........but thats just my opinion.

Not worth it unless he gets a cam shaft along with it.
Honda's come from the factory for a reason.
