Default Worth buying? 2000 em1 SI

hi, im debating if this car is worth it or not, therefore like to ask some of your opinion. Wasnt sure if this is the right place to go, but it's in the civic forum

saw on local theres a 2000 SI EM1 FS. the other day for 10.2k, im about to head up there to test drive it, but the seller said only if your going to buy it then you get to test drive it. Therefore, before making any decision i like to hear some critiques or suggestion.

ok first off anyone that tells you have have to buy it if you want to test drive it is probably a scammer.

tell him you will go for a ride and he can drive, but dont ever commit to anything without looking over it and at least riding in it.

plus em1's are garbage anyways...

First of, love the avatar lol... BOOBIES.

Anyhow, back on topic. If it were up to me I woudln't pay 10k+ for a turbo'd SI. The SI's are nice, but you never know how hard they have driven it and it's someone else's project. You can find a SI for a lot less and put your own touch on it. But hey, if you like it, it drives nice and its in your budget then why not. What are the smog laws in MN about turbo'd cars?

Yes it's clean title, the sweat thing about it, is that it's only 40k miles. comparing to other SI around here that has +80k miles that sells for 9k.

Looks like a sweet deal to me! Well as long as nothing is wrong with the motor of course.

One thing I don't understand is why he has a port/polished head and everything stock??? Maybe he tore out and sold a fully built motor, minus the head???

By the way, my friend just sold his bone stock Si with 75k miles for $10,500.

he told me that he had a kid now and growing old. Most people usually use this excuse, but like i say i have to drive it and see the motor in person to really believe.

honestyly for 10.2k thats not that bad, the paint's in great shape, low miles, even if the motor blows you can still sell the turbo parts and anything salvagable for 1-2k and put that towards your k or a type r swap and you still have a low mileage si

I WOULD GO FOR IT

yeah and i drive an em1

i wouldn't buy it cuz of many reasons... guaranteed been ragged many times, turboed honda, 40,000 miles seemed pretty low for an 8 year old import, you have to know what you are looking at to determine it is a "fully built motor", the car does not look mint and em1s sux

honestly no one is ever going to get the full story about any modded car/motor unless you know the person and are friends with them. you could pull the VC and check to see whats under it, i doubt he would let you. i would check the wheels and verify that they are real. if he's lying about those, chances are he's lying about a lot of other ****.

but like i said, overall 10k isn't bad for a low mileage em1 with a clean title, BUT TRY TO TALK HIM DOWN. maybe he will sell for 9500. go with cash, it never hurts to try

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PURCHASE

your going to love your em1
