Default worth it? B18C5 engine...

I have a chance to buy This type R long block, owner wants $1300 smack a roos. It comes with center axles and center shaft also has some mounts for an EK swap and Si shift linkage.

You might be wondering why so cheap! well owner claims he took it apart a while ago and found out it needs new main bearings.

im afraid i might i find cracks in the block, either way what would you do? is it worth it?

The block is probably not cracked, but it is the same as any other P72 block from a gsr. Sounds like he's selling cheap because it needs a rebuild. It may have spun a bearing though...did you try spinning the crank?

I Say 1k Firm. Just cause its a Long Block With Bad Bearings. If the Crank needs polishing Then take it for less.

1000 bucks would be a good buy for sure, 1300 isn't to bad. brand new long block runs about 2700 bucks. I'd do it.

Open the oil pan and see if its filled with metal. So you know whats on your hands before buying it. IF there is no metal in there, then you are probably OK and can replace the bearings, maybe resurface part of the crank (hopefully not). If its filled with metal then its ****ed anyway.
