Default World Sport exhaust fitment issues...RATTLING!!

installed an apex wsII on my 92si, and the midpipe is touching/rattling against the compensator arm on the side that attaches to the underbody (not the trailing arm side). the reason is b/c the stock piping had more angled bends, but the wsII piping has more right angle bends, and therefore doesn't fit exactly like oem as per apexi website.

anyway, it got annoying, so i tried hammering the metal some (not the actual compensator arm!). still rattles. anybody else have this problem? anyway to fix it?

Yeah mine does the same thing so you're not alone. It's only at certain RPM's so as long as I stay out of those ranges I'm ok. What a bummer considering how nicely my World Sport fit on my Prelude. I haven't tried to do anything about it since it's been too cold.

mine was rattling over the lca, so i took some exhaust wrap and covered the exhaust where it was hitting. its not really a "good" fix but it relieves that rattling noise.

Hey guys try this its what i did. As you know there are different rubber hangers some are tighter and some are looser. Get some and manipulate the fitment i did this and it stop it all

well, it was touching at first, so the rattle WAS only at certain rpms. but since i banged it some, there is a little gap, and now it rattles pretty much anything under 3000rpm. it finally got warm enough today, so i'm about to go out and bang it some more.

my car isn't lowered, so i have no lca issues. and i don't think the rubber hangers will help b/c well, the pipe flanges aren't closely touching when the screws are out, so i have to hold em together while a buddy screws on the bolts.

might have to try the BLOCK-O-WOOD method

Use a jack to manipulate it by jacking it up so you can get the hangers on it

note to self: dynamat doesn't fix exhaust rattles

just tried the block-o-wood method. seems like it'll last longer than the dynamat did. but it still doesn't fix the problem. i'm afraid the wood will come loose and fall out, or it'll get waterlogged, etc. guess i'll have to keep replacing wood pieces til i figure out a real fix.

you can go to a muffler shop, and they can weld/cut/change the hangers on the pipes so they clear

That sucks! I wanted to get the WS system but now i'm hearing of this. There aren't any reputable muffler shops in my area that i have had experience with.
