won't rev up when hot- help
I have just done a B16B swap to my 1999 Civic, i just hooked up the rad so i ran it up to temp. the engine light was off untill it heated up, and then after it was at operating temp the car would not rev higher then 3000. Anyone KNow why? it revs smoth until then and just kickes down. simular to a fuel cut off
theres no exhaust on the car except a headerso no back pressure , the secound 02 sensor is not hooked up.

Pull the codes, reset the ECU, and verify that the same codes appear. If so, troubleshoot the codes as detailed in the service manual or post more questions in your thread.

I figured the code out i belive, i looped the jumper plug. and it flashed once pause then twice pause. then flashed quick 5 times, which would be the map sensor. Any reason it would be reading a problem now? i had the swap done for a while, but never ran it up to temp untill now

Re: (typeRcoupe32)
If all the flashes were short, then you have three codes:
1 - primary O2 sensor
2 - secondary O2 sensor
5 - MAP sensor
Clear the ECU, run the engine/drive the car, and see which codes do and do not reappear.

that would be correct, the exhaust is not hooked up, so the o2 sensors are not pluged in, and one vacume line is not hooked up because i have not finished fabircating the intake. would that be why?

Re: (typeRcoupe32)
The disconnected vacuum line likely goes to the MAP sensor, hence code 5.
You already know the reason for the secondary and primary O2 sensor codes.
Clear the ECU. After you reconnect the vacuum line and re-install the exhaust and O2 sensors, all codes should go away along with the rev problem.
