won't rev, dies out, nasty plugs
ok, posting for a friend, he did an h22 swap in his civic
-hasport harness
-jdm h22
-chipped p28 (not the problem for sure)
- fuel cell with some turbo cars inline pump
he wired everything up, except egr (not using) knock sensor (ecu doesn't use it) and the iab(runnin off vaccum). there is no tach in the car so i can't say exactly what rpms, but it sounds like about 3kish, then it bogs out and dies. If you just start the car without reving, it dies. The timing is werid because the dash to set up the timing on the flywheel(clutchmasters) is always off, its like the car won't go in time. nothing internal was touched or everyhas been touched on the motor, just clutch and flywheel so its not cam timing or anything, i'm thinking possibly the dizzy is 180 out but i spun it, reinstalled, and it didn't make a difference. the plugs have black **** built up on them and they are brand new. any ideas?

Re: won't rev, dies out, nasty plugs (ReDRoCkEt)
plugs don't light with a lighter, and don't smell like a lot of fuel, kind of burnt, but it is runnin rich, its blowing black smoke out the exhaust, still not reving up past about 2kish maybe 3( no tach), timing is set, the fuel pump i think is a 255 not positive because it doesn't say anywhere on the box or the pump itself, but injectors and everything are stock, would the pump cause it to run so rich that it couldn't rev up?
