Woe is me.
Went to the strip today.
Got down 6 runs.
My best time was a 10.065 @ 69.013 mph. I had a 2.304 60ft and I was running 14" azenis.
That was my best run. I wanted to see if I could break in the 9s.
So I went and did my burnout...staged and dumped the clutch to launch.
All of the sudden, it feels like I get 1 wheel traction....then *clunk*....something had broken.
Tranny is shot now...I think it might be the differential or the final drive.
It will turn a few teeth on the gear but after that it will pop out of gear.
I'm goign to try and swap trannies tommorow.
BTW its a D16z6...just bolt ons.

yeah...it was an 8th mile.
I think if I would have put 10psi in the tires I could have broke into the 9s

well your 60 foot time sucks ***. You don't dump the clutch when you lunch. I bet you I could launch better then you can with my open diff and piece of **** all season tires. Slip it from like 5 grand.
About the broken part, I would shake down your axles, lift the car up and turn wheels by hand see if you hear any clicking. Take the axles out inspect them closely. Then stick you finger inside a axle holes and inspect the differential. See if the spyder gears aren't broken or the diff is broken in half right where it meets the bearing (seen both happen). If anything is wrong with a diff get a new z6 or y8 tranny.

That's what I'm sayin..
My tranny went out a couple months ago, I'm still collecting parts so I can get it swapped over to a manual.

How can you only pull a 2.3 60' on Azenis? I pull consistant 2.20's on mismatched Winter tires on my brother's B18C1 hatchback...and I'm willing to bet I could hit 2.0 on his Ecsta Supra 712's. Why dump the clutch? That doesn't work for dick - gotta feather to get a decent launch. You could easilly hit a 9.XX in th 1/8th with a nice launch with your setup.

Re: Woe is me. (drewbie)
what are you doiing at that track then.
Seriously those are horrible 60 foot times, lack of control over a car. J/k
Just go hit up some grippy empty parking lots and practice slipping from like 5 grand I bet you will feel the difference. The only hard part about it is making sure you won't fry the clutch so you can't hold it too long and too high, nor you won't spin the tires like no other of the line. I don't think it would be that hard with azenis, with **** tires it gets challanging.
