wiring vtec to your high beams
the dude i bought my engine told me that if i didn't want the hassle of getting a vtec wire harness i could use my Dx wire harness and just hook up the vtec to my high beams. is this true? and how would i go about doing it?

Why you would ever wire your vtec to your hi-beams is beyond me. Is that like an economy V-AFC? Maybe you could do a little more work and run a few wires and pin them to your ECu instead. A17 I believe

...DUDE IM LOSING! BETTER HIT THE HIGHBEAMS!
The ECU is like another 4-5 ft away...and easier to wire into.

Re: wiring vtec to your high beams (Archidictus)
See, I thought they meant wiring it the other way. Not using the high beams to switch cam profiles, but to use the high beams as an indicator light.
And I was thinking it might be neat, but it would be almost as stupid because you'd be flashing cops every time you switched.

Re: wiring vtec to your high beams (fukaintmuven)
why dont you hook it to the horn, that way you can just blow by them!!! ha!
Get the ecu, I dont think you know enough about the vehicles to mess with a vafc and the fuel to install and tune it. Honestly, If you cant afford 300 for the ecu I dont think you will spend 300 on a vafc and another 200 to 300 on dyno runs while tuning it.
It would technically be possible to run it off any 12 volt switch on you vehicle.

Re: wiring vtec to your high beams (madhatch)
so what...when vtec engages, BAM the high beams go on.
"dude whyd he turn his high beams on"
"cuz he be in vtec yO"
errr, but from what im getting, dont wire them into highbeams. Do the correct install. I believe using a 96-97 EX harness will help right? Cause you don't have to repin anything...I THINK...

Re: wiring vtec to your high beams (VTECVillain)
want a more productive wiring solution...
Hate your momo or aftermarket steering wheel horn honking everytime you make a sharp turn?
Tired of squirting people who pass by you with your side mounted windshield sprayers?
Hook up the **** for the windshield sprayers to your horn. It's a fun waste of time, I promise.
