Wiring melted on steering column...
anyone else ever heard of the wiring for the headlights melting randomly on the steering column where the switch for the headlights and turn signals meets the column? it happened a while ago, like five months ago, and I just ran new wiring and a three way switch and didnt worry about it, but I'd like to put it back sometime... so any ideas or thoughts or whatever... just post it

I see this every now and again, where people put those "fake HID" bulbs in their cars, and the sockets on them melt, and occasionally they ruin the wiring all the way up to the column. Are your headlamp sockets melted as well?

A poor connection to the switch in the column will cause a voltage draw due to increased resistance, which will produce heat, and heat melts stuff, if you have poor grounding, I would suggest you start with checking all that first.
