Wiring for a JDM B16A(2) going into EG hatch....

I searched but didn't come up with anything that I thought would help. I'm posting this for my little brother who is dropping a 92-95 JDM B16A SiR2(hydro tranny) engine into his 95 hatch. I've done a JDM swap, so I know the wiring is reversed. When I did my swap I went D series to D series, so I just used my stock CX harness and wired the VTEC separately. Can he do that? I don't think I've ever heard of someone using a D series wiring harness on a B16A. If it's possible then that's awesome, but is he better off getting a B series harness? He has his B series axles now and his comptech intake arrived yesterday, so we're pretty much ready to go.

you can use D-series wiring harness on your swap. I know some of them are not wired for vtec, therefore you'll have to run those lines (knock sensor, vtec solenoid, etc.) separately straight to the ecu. i personally use an obd1 wiring harness off a b-series.

D-series wired for vtec: EX, SI....CX??

someone add more to this.....

im in the middle of this same issue. i have a b16a jdm motor and have a 93 cx hatch. after plenty of people telling me to rig this and rig that. im spent going to bone yard after bone yard i finnally found the vtec solinoid, knock sensor etc. plugs and now im ready to extend my o2 censor and i should be rockin.

so after my long shpeel. i will say it is possible to use your d-series harness. but it would be a whole lot easier to go with the b-series one. IMO.

good luck let me know how it goes https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Why do you have to extend your 02 sensor? with my swap (b16a3 delsol motor into 94 civic si, cdn ex) all i had to do was wire in my knock sensor wire and that was it. is it different on hatchbacks? the o2 sensor on the b16 was perfect length, even after i got a itr header for it fit without issues. IMO a d series with vtec harness would be just the same, if i'm not mistaken only the b16a3 came with a knock sensor and it took me 5 min to wire it in. easy as hell

i just did this swap. use your stock harness. since you have a cx you have to run the vtec wires, knock sensor, and O2 sensor wires. the cx comes with a 1 wire O2 and the sirII comes with a 4 wire. just do a search for the wiring diagram. other than that everything else just bolts right in.

I used my stock DX wirting harness and added the neccesary wires. This should help....
