WIRING HARNESS??? WHICH ONE???
Hey I have a 95 cx honda civic hatchback with a 97 obd2 gsr engine in it. My car right now runs but the VTEC does not kick in right??? I'm thinking that the wiring could be wrong. I was just going to switch up the wiring harnesses. Which one should I use??? OBD2 TO OBD1 or should I just stick with the regular factory one??? I have a p72 obd1 ecu right now. Really need some help to get my car running right. ANYONE??

well, did you convert the motor to obd1?? if not, I did this on my del sol with obd2 gsr swap....was just run obd2 dizzy, alt, injectors and run a integra wiring harness. It plugs into your shock tower harness with no modification, then ran a obd1 ecu..no check engine lights, no problems

Well I bought the car with the motor already swapped. The swap doesn't look clean. Wires are EVERYWHERE! I looked at the vtec solenoid and theres a wire running from that all the way back to the ecu. Is it suppose to be like that???

well since he has wires everywhere, got any pics? well....is the distributor a 1 plug (obd2) or have 2 plugs on it (obd1)..that should tell you weather he's running obd1 or 2.

just look in the passanger side kick pannel and check which ecu its running... if its obd1 use an obd1 harness.. if its obd2 then use the obd2 harness..
is it throwing a code.. coz if ur wiring was wrong then itd throw something like code 21 VTEC spool solenoid valve or code
22 VTEC pressure valve. did he convert to a 4wire o2? how about knock sensor?
did he eliminat the iabs... i wanna see a pic of this wiring rats nest...

Re: (wob)
why would he have to convert to a 4-wire o2??? Its already there. He can use a obd2 wiring harness off of a integra since the teg harness are split into 2 peices just like 92-95 civic, but the 96-00 civics are a one complete harness. The 94-01 teg harness's are 2 peices thru all those years, and they will plug into the Civic shock towers and run just fine. I did this with my del sol, I know it works. Just get a obd2 gsr harness, or LS harness if you wanna hardwire vtec in (only 3 wires). Run the obd2 dizzy, alt, injectors, and plug it all in...you can run a obd1 ecu..since your not changing the harness on the other side

I but a B16 in 93 hatch and used the hasport sub harness it worked great nice and clean. factory plugs and all loomed. I would stick with what ever the chassis harness you have for the engine harness. if you need to change the dizzy there are conversion plugs out there to go from obd2 back to obd1. otherwise I have just used the sensors from one a obd1 dizzy and put them in the b series case.
