Which wiring harness
Hey everybody hows it going. My first statement is please don't flame me, i don't even own a honda. Now that that is out of the way, i am posting for my friend because he has a 97 hatchback and we swapped a JDM B18B following guides we found on here as well as other sites. We were really confident going into the swap but from day one the car just wouldn't run right, lack of power, ran unbelievably rich, and couldn't hold an idle. So we decided that we should take it to a shop and see what they said about it. We took it to our local honda specialist (not a honda dealership) and they told us that basically the wiring harness was all messed up that there were 12v wires going nowhere and some sensors weren't recieving any voltage (this wasn't any of our fault, we believe the previous owner somehow hacked things up, we use the crappy alarm install as our proof). So we decided that since the car has an integra motor to buy an integra wiring harness. Well i have come to the conclusion that this is wrong because the civic's harness goes straight from the ecu to all the sensors but it appears that the integras doesn't. So basically my question is will the integra harness that we have work with like say buying the part that connects to the ecu or do we need to just go back and buy a civic harness and then do the fixes like the idle air or w/e it was(can't remember, we swapped a couple months ago and i'm a nissan guy). I look forward to your response, thanks, Kerry.
EDIT: it was a CX hatch and an OBD2 b18b

you will need to use the harness that come out of the car. the teggy harness only goes to the strut tower. try this link i use it for all my swaps. you do need to swap 2 pins to go from a 3 wire iac to a 2 wire iac. move A14 to A12
that link is for a b16 but it will swap over to your b18b
good luck

it is much more work to make the 99-00 si harnes wsorn in a 96-98 car. it is much easier to use the harness out of the car. obd2a and obd2b cars have swapable parts, but it is more trouble than what it is worth to make the sb harness work in a 2a car.

Re: (boostedcivicsir)
ok so now do you think acura will take back the integra harness? then once that is figured out we should pick up a new 97 hatch cx wiring harness and just redo the swap?

it is gonna take time or money. try a "yard" it is gonna run you 300 bucks from the dealer. with the harness being an electrical item, the dealer may not take it back. try http://www.importautosalvage.com and see if they can get you a harness. take care and good luck.
