Wire routing help
What do you do about getting a wire through one of these rubber things? Also does anybody know if you can purchase those rubber pieces because I can't find them on Majestic. Some of mine have hella overspray and could be replaced.

Can you even get to where the wires enter the car?
Basicly just pull the wire through it. When I did my speaker wires I used a metal hanger, taped the wire to it, and fished it threw it. (front doors)

Re: Wire routing help
Yeah, I am at the location and took the grommet off the car on both sides. Just fishing a single wire through it is looking impossible to me. The space is sooo tight, especially on the left side where the hatch release cable goes through the rubber piece. If the piece was straight it would be a little easier, but since it has a bent in it I find it really hard to get a wire all the way through. I feel like a hanger would make a hole in the rubber which I don't want.

You could always wrap it with electrical tape.
It's going to take patience/ time to do it, I was scratching my head and cussing at my car for a bit before I got it.

Hmm, if I wrap it with electrical tape it won't be able to go through that hole in the body though. If I try to put the wire separately then it won't let the OEM grommet go all the way on the body. I am trying to get this green wire from the outer tails to the inner tails so it has to go through that hole in the body to the tailgate.

no no, wrap the boot in electrical tape if you cut it. Sorry, I didn't go much into detail on that post.
What my friend did was cut the boot open, pulled the wires threw and then wrapped it with electrical tape to cover up the cut.

Ok, I was able to get the wire through on this side taping it to a metal hanger. But its not going in so easily on the other side. The other side has the hatch latch release cable going through it so the space is much tighter than it was on the right side where just some tail light wiring went.

Re: Wire routing help
What are you trying to run wires for? On my hatch, the only thing going through on the left side grommet is the hatch release cable, no wires at all.

Did you pull that cover off??
You might just have to reach in and try and grab it, or push the hanger in farther?
If you go a auto part store they sell these little 'grabber" type things. They are long, and should allow you to reach in what that, and grab the wire and pull it threw.

Re: Wire routing help
Ok nevermind. I basically just ran the wire for the left side through the right grommet as well and then once inside the car, brought it to the left side tail light just like the factory wiring. I realized that since the left side grommet only has the hatch release cable, even the factory ran both driver side and passenger side tail light wiring from the tailgate in the car through the right side grommet.
And to clarify, I was running one wire from each of the inner tail lights to the outer tail lights to tap into the brake light signal wire (green) so I could have all 4 lights (inner and outer) light up when I brake. Re: Wire routing help
I did have to take off the tail gate panel to get the wire from the left side to the right side of the tailgate underneath the panel. Good thing I am not going panel-less and trying to tuck my rear wiring =P
